This blog is to give you an overview of my group; who they are, how I met them, etc. For this music video, I am working with one person from the previous group and one new person from a different period. My other two members from the last group decided to either go solo or join a new group, which is respectable. Firstly, Juan Baca has re-joined which was a decision made in an instant when we found out this project would also be group based. We both agreed we should at LEAST get one more member. Frankly, no one in our classroom was willing, and most were already in a group, or looking to join one with their close friends, unfortunate, but reasonable. Because of these reasons, we decided to look at other options. I had an idea to just take a couple friends from other periods and Juan agreed on that idea. We picked 2 students, Fahim Alam from second period and Keith Rogers from eighth period. Fahim had no issue with the matter and agreed to work with us, on the other hand Keith let u...
I am the main editor of our commercial. After the first day of filming, I had one of our members Aaron send me all the clips, as he had them all on his phone. I emailed the clips to my email so I could download them to my PC. The reason I volunteered to edit is because I used to edit videos for people, for YouTube. They would send me videos and I would add certain FX and music of their choice. Then I would show them the product, and they would give me their two cents. I knew this would come in handy, and today it did. Originally, I didn't want to do anything, "extra", but I realized that iMovie was not capable of making an important edit that we needed for our commercial; rewind. iMovie was incapable of rewinding and this posed as a big problem, as the rewind of one of the scenes is what made our commercial stick out. Ariel decided that we could put the video through Snapchat, and at first it didn't seem a bad idea. We shortly realized the videos were too long, and h...
Research: My group is doing our commercial on Airpod Pros. Typically in apple commercials there is one main character using the specific apple product. Music is used in almost every apple advertisement and comes from the apple music app (usually upbeat incidental music). There is no specific dress code, the actors wear trendy or just their normal style clothing. Apple commercials use most of the same types of cuts. Jump cuts along with upbeat music are used to create an exciting mood and get the audience pumped up. Apple commercials also use most of the same shots. Tracking shots are used and follow the main actor to show the action they can do with the product. For example: jumping, dancing. Close up shots are used either when the actor puts the airpods in his ears or takes them out. Conventions and Codes Some conventions and codes that Apple uses includes ending the commercial with the Apple logo and the apple product name that was advertised. Another one is the mai...
